An optimal two-week moonless window begins for observing both the Zodiacal Light and the Gegenschein. Look for a faint cone of light extending from the horizon along the ecliptic after dusk or before dawn. Under extremely dark skies at midnight, you might also spot the Gegenschein, a faint glowing oval at the anti-solar point.
